The students are involved in individualized therapy.  Some students come to the speech room alone.  Others come in small groups.

Some of the skills taught in the speech therapy room at this time include the following:

1.  Students are working on learning to say certain sounds correctly.

2.  Students are practicing repeating telling and asking sentences.

3.  Students are learning life skills such as what to do if you are being followed.

4.  Students are learning parts of speech such as which pronouns to use in a sentence.

5.  Students are learning to read and follow directions from their regular education classroom work.

6.  Students are learning to speak fluently with fewer stuttering patterns.

Speech and language therapy can be for qualifying students between the ages of birth to 21 years.  Speech and language therapy involves disorders in articulation, fluency, voice, receptive language, expressive language and written language.  If you are concerned about the development of any of these skills in your child you can contact your local speech and language therapist.
